Subscription & Renewal
Manage your Nukta ISP platform subscription, review workspace invoices, understand renewal grace periods, and settle payments online.
Your Nukta platform subscription
Your Nukta subscription is your organization's own account with the Nukta billing platform. It covers the high-availability cloud RADIUS servers, automated WireGuard management tunnels, payment gateway callback listeners, and real-time network telemetry that power your ISP operations.
Your platform subscription is completely separate from the invoices and charges you issue to your end customers.
Accessing the subscription workspace
To view your subscription status, open your user profile menu in the top-right corner of the dashboard and select Plan & Billing (or navigate to /subscription).
The Plan & Billing navigation item is strictly accessible to Owner, Administrator, and Finance team members. Customer support, technician, and marketing accounts cannot view company subscription invoices.
The three top status indicators
At the top of the Plan & Billing page, three real-time indicators summarize your workspace standing:
- Expires: The exact calendar date and timestamp your current platform subscription runs to.
- Days Left: A live countdown of remaining days until renewal. Transitions to an amber warning as expiry nears, and reads Expired if the subscription lapses.
- Amount Due: The outstanding balance on your current platform invoice, or a green All Paid Up indicator.
Below the summary strip, your complete billing history is displayed in reverse chronological order, with an in-app Pay button next to any unpaid invoice.
What happens when a subscription expires
Nukta ensures your team has ample advance notice before service interruption:
- 5-Day Payment Window: Five days before your due date, a prominent Renew Subscription banner appears in your dashboard sidebar with a direct shortcut to the payment modal.
- Expiry Day Notification: On the day of expiration, all workspace administrators receive an automated email notice: "Your Nukta subscription expires today."
- Workspace Restriction Upon Lapse: If a subscription lapses without payment, administrative dashboard pages temporarily redirect to Plan & Billing. Team members can still access payment gateways, view subscription invoices, download past statements, and manage account security, but routine operations (such as creating new customers or modifying router configurations) are paused until renewal.
Renew your subscription before expiration whenever possible. An expired subscription restricts day-to-day management access — team members cannot register new customers, modify packages, or provision routers while the platform console is paused.
How to renew your subscription
You can settle your renewal invoice as soon as the 5-day payment window opens, or immediately if your account has already lapsed:
- In your dashboard, open your profile menu and select Plan & Billing, or click Renew Now on the sidebar banner.
- Click Pay on the outstanding invoice. A modal appears displaying the itemized charges and total amount due.
- Choose Your Payment Method:
- Credit / Debit Card: Pay securely via card (powered by Paystack's encrypted checkout). Once approved, you are automatically redirected back to your dashboard.
- Mobile Money / M-Pesa: Enter your mobile phone number and click Proceed. An automated STK push prompt is sent to your phone. Enter your PIN on your mobile device to authorize payment.
- Instant Service Restoration: As soon as the transaction is confirmed, the modal closes, the invoice transitions to Paid, and your workspace expiry date advances by one full month. All edge router connections and customer billing functions are verified automatically.
How renewal dates are calculated
Nukta calculates renewal dates fairly, ensuring you never lose paid time:
- Renewing Early: When you settle your invoice during the 5-day window prior to expiry, the extra month is added directly on top of your remaining days. You lose zero days by paying early.
- Renewing After Expiry: If you renew after your subscription has lapsed, the new one-month period begins from the exact day you pay (not from the old lapsed date). You are not charged for past downtime days when your management console was inactive.
If your workspace was expired for more than 30 days before renewal, your confirmation receipt will explicitly note that the new billing cycle started from the payment date, ensuring clean accounting and audit transparency.
The 5-day payment window
To prevent accidental double payments or premature charges, a renewal invoice only opens for payment within the 5 days immediately preceding its due date (or anytime after the due date has passed).
If you open the subscription page before the 5-day window, the modal displays:
"Payment for this invoice opens on [Date]."
This ensures your billing cycle remains aligned with your monthly accounting calendar.
