Creating a package step-by-step

To create a new internet package:

  1. In your dashboard, navigate to Finance → Packages.
  2. Click Create Package (or + Add Package).
  3. Select your Package Type (Hotspot, PPPoE, Data Plan, Free Trial, or TV).
  4. Enter the package specifications:
    • Package Name: A clear, customer-friendly title (e.g., 3-Hour Unlimited Hotspot or 20 Mbps Home Fiber).
    • Price: The cost charged to the customer in your selected currency.
    • Validity Duration: How long the plan remains active once activated (e.g., 3 Hours, 24 Hours, 7 Days, or 30 Days).
    • Speed Limits: Configured in dedicated Download Speed and Upload Speed fields in Mbps (e.g., 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload, saved as 10M/5M).
    • Device Limit: Maximum concurrent hardware devices allowed per customer account (commonly 1 for walk-in hotspots or 1–3 for family plans).
    • Fair Use Policy (FUP) (Optional): Set daily or monthly data thresholds that throttle speeds when exceeded.
  5. Click Create Package to publish the plan.

Merchandising and captive portal visibility

Nukta provides powerful merchandising tools to help you market your packages effectively:

  • Live vs Off Status: Live packages are actively available for customer purchase or manual assignment. Setting a plan to Off temporarily hides it from captive portals without affecting existing active subscriptions.
  • Featured / Popular Tag: Highlights your best-value plan on captive portal screens with a prominent "Popular" badge to increase customer conversion.
  • Display Ordering: Drag or re-order packages to control the sequence in which offers appear on the customer captive portal.
  • Captive Portal Visibility: An active package can be hidden from public captive portals while remaining available for administrative assignment in Users → Customers.

Router restrictions

By default, an internet package is available account-wide across all routers in your network.

If you operate multiple sites with different pricing or speed tiers, you can apply Router Restrictions:

  1. Open the package in Finance → Packages and select Edit Package.
  2. Under Allowed Mikrotiks, select the specific routers where this package should be available.
  3. Save changes.

When restricted, the package will only appear on captive portals served by the selected routers, and cannot be assigned to customers connected to other sites.

Duplicating, editing, and retiring packages

Duplicating packages

To create a seasonal promotion or variation of an existing package without re-entering all bandwidth parameters:

  1. Open the package in Finance → Packages.
  2. Click Duplicate Package.
  3. Adjust the pricing, duration, or speed limits as needed.
  4. Save the new package.

Safe retirement

When discontinuing a package, set its status to Off or uncheck Show on Captive Portal rather than deleting it immediately. This preserves historical accounting ledgers and allows existing active customers on the plan to complete their validity window without interruption.
