Customer Portals Overview

Learn how Nukta delivers branded self-service customer portals, Hotspot captive portals, and automated PPPoE renewal portals.

The customer portal is completely separate from the ISP dashboard (dashboard.nukta.one). It provides a secure, self-service environment where customers can view their connection status, buy or renew packages, pay invoices, review data usage, and open support tickets.

A customer can see only records associated with their own portal session or account. They cannot access ISP administrative settings, manage other customers, or configure network hardware.

The Three Portal Interfaces

Nukta delivers three purpose-built customer portal experiences designed for different network access scenarios:

1. Customer Portal

The persistent self-service web dashboard located at https://{subdomain}.nukta.one/home. Customers sign in using a phone verification code (OTP) or their PPPoE credentials. They can monitor active subscriptions, review 30-day bandwidth charts, pay pending invoices, download PDF receipts, and contact your support desk.

2. Hotspot Captive Portal

The automated Wi-Fi onboarding page that pops up on smartphones, laptops, and tablets when connecting to your open Wi-Fi network. It displays your branded packages, allows one-tap mobile checkout, accepts physical voucher PIN codes, and includes QR code payments for Smart TVs.

3. PPPoE Captive Portal

Loads automatically on connected phones or computers when a customer's PPPoE plan expires. Customers can quickly renew their existing package or switch to an upgrade or downgrade with instant mobile payment—no sign-in, passwords, or OTPs required.

ISP Prerequisites

For a smooth, professional portal experience, configure the following settings in your Nukta dashboard:

  1. Brand Identity: Upload your company logo, set brand accent colors, greeting messages, and terms of service under Settings → Branding.
  2. Customer Contact & Access: Ensure customer profiles have accurate phone numbers and email addresses for OTP authentication and payment receipts.
  3. Plan Availability & Pricing: Configure packages under Finance → Packages, ensuring public packages are marked as Live with appropriate router assignments and pricing in your selected currency.
  4. Payment Gateways: Set up and test your payment gateway (e.g. M-Pesa Paybill/Till, Paystack, or PesaPal).
  5. Messaging Provider & Templates: Connect an active SMS provider under Outreach → Settings so OTP codes, renewal receipts, and ticket confirmations deliver instantly.
  6. Support Ticket Routing: Ensure team member notification emails and permissions are set up to handle incoming customer inquiries.

Security & Customer Data Isolation

Nukta enforces strict multi-tenant and customer data isolation:

  • Session Isolation: Each portal session is authenticated through encrypted session tokens and strictly scoped to the authenticated customer.
