Notifications and Templates
Automate customer event SMS notices, customize message templates with dynamic tags, and configure MikroTik router status alerts.
Automate messages deliberately
Automated messaging in Nukta ensures your customers stay informed of their subscription lifecycle while keeping your operations team immediately aware of network outages and revenue milestones:
- Customer Event Copy: Configured under Settings → Communications → SMS → Templates.
- Team Operational Alerts: Configured under Settings → Notifications.
Customer event templates
Nukta provides dedicated template switches for each major customer lifecycle event:
| Event Template | Default Trigger Scenario | Supported Options / Toggles |
|---|---|---|
| PPPoE Payment Receipt | Sent immediately upon successful PPPoE payment or renewal. | Includes hasFirstPurchaseToggle to message only first-time customers if desired. |
| Hotspot Payment Receipt | Sent when a guest or customer purchases a Wi-Fi package online. | Includes hasFirstPurchaseToggle to message only first-time users. |
| Hotspot Voucher Delivery | Sent when an offline voucher is generated or sent to a phone. | Delivers voucher code, package name, and validity duration. |
| PPPoE Expiry Notice | Dispatched immediately when a PPPoE account subscription lapses. | Displays amount due, Paybill number, and account username. |
| Hotspot Expiry Notice | Sent when a customer's active Hotspot time or data allowance expires. | Prompts user to reconnect or purchase a fresh package. |
| PPPoE Pre-Expiry Reminder | Sent proactively before an account lapses to prompt early renewal. | Controlled in conjunction with PPPoE reminder schedules. |
| Bundle Usage Warning | Dispatched when a data bundle reaches a designated usage percentage threshold. | Alerts customer to remaining megabytes/gigabytes. |
Template formatting & variable rules
- Message bodies enforce a 320-character maximum (up to 2 concatenated SMS segments).
- Insert dynamic variables directly from the UI dropdown (e.g.,
{{first_name}},{{username}},{{package_name}},{{amount}},{{expiry_date}},{{days_left}},{{paybill}},{{till_number}}). - Always preview and test messages with both complete customer profiles and records that lack optional fields (such as missing first names) to ensure readability.
Pre-expiry reminders
Pre-expiry reminders help eliminate service downtime by alerting customers ahead of expiration:
- Schedule Configuration: Reminder timing (e.g., 24 hours, 6 hours, or 2 hours prior to expiration) is managed under Settings → PPPoE Automation (or Settings → Network).
- Template Content: Managed under Settings → Communications → SMS → Templates.
- Requirements: Both the reminder schedule and the corresponding SMS template switch must be toggled Enabled, and the customer record must contain a valid phone number.
Team operational alerts (MikroTik status)
Under Settings → Notifications, you can configure real-time operational alerts for network administrators:
- MikroTik Router Outage Alerts: Get notified the instant a router drops offline or reconnects.
- Recipient Phone Numbers: Specify designated emergency mobile phone numbers to alert. If left empty, alerts route to your workspace account owner default.
- Independent Delivery Paths: Router connectivity monitoring operates independently of your notification provider. A network outage can be detected and logged even if your external SMS gateway is temporarily unreachable.
Automated sales reports
Operational alerts can generate daily or weekly revenue summaries dispatched to your finance team:
- Confirm that your workspace operational timezone is set correctly under Settings → Account.
- Verify that all designated recipient phone numbers and email addresses are authorized to view sensitive business revenue totals.
Troubleshooting automated notifications
If a customer reports missing an automated receipt or expiry alert, follow this checklist:
- Verify Event Switch: Confirm the specific template toggle is enabled in Settings → Communications → SMS → Templates.
- Inspect Customer Phone Format: Ensure the customer profile contains a valid phone number formatted with the proper international dial code.
- Check Gateway Health & Balance: Open Settings → Communications → SMS → Gateways and confirm your provider is active with sufficient prepaid credit.
- Inspect First-Purchase & Threshold Filters: If Only first purchase or Bundle percentage filters are active, confirm whether the customer's transaction met the trigger criteria.
- Check Message Log: Review Communication → Messages to inspect the real-time transmission status (Sent, Delivered, or Failed).
